Solid State Hard Drives taking a price dive

Solid state hard drives are revolutionary.  They have taken a normal hard drive and instead of using a disk it uses memory banks.  Allowing hard drives to be much smaller in size allowing more room for ventilation in smaller notebooks.  The biggest problem so far with solid state drives is the price tag.  These tiny drives cost a fortune for just 60 gigs of storage.  Now they are going to take a price drop and be much more affordable.  Allowing people to indulge in the much smaller laptops. ;)

“Compared to the price you’re paying today for a 64GB drive. You’ll get a 128GB of storage for less than half the price (of the 64GB drive),” said Patrick Wilkison, vice president of marketing and business development at STEC, a supplier of MLC-based solid-state drives.

I HATE THE UK NEWS PAPERS

Hi folks I have been busy again at work but now have time to blog. Over the past few weeks some of the Uk news papers have realley made me hate them because of what they have done to Hannah Bond. The Daily Mail was the worst here is a link the article http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-566481/Why-child-safe-sinister-cult-emo.html . They talk about “EMO” and My Chemical Romance Fans as being a cult and she committed suicide because of the band. That is the biggest load of rubbish I have ever heard. EMO is a stereotype not a cult yes some of them do self harm and commit suicide but most of them are “EMO” for the music or how they dress. Much the same with my chemical romance fans they are not a cult they are a group of music lovers of all ages and backgrounds. For this I hate British news papers mostly the sun and the daily mail of you buy either of them please stop. Thanks LiamRHarvey

Chinese hackers say lights out for America?

There was recently a report linking Chinese hackers from the Peoples Liberation Army, hacked into various utility firms in the US and shut the lights off for many Florida residents.  Sadly the hackers weren’t even trying to shut the lights off, it was a mistake!

Former Cyber Security Industry Alliance president Tim Bennett claims the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) tapped into the computer network of utility firms serving the northeastern U.S., based on revelations by U.S. intelligence officials to him. The breach caused the blackout in Michigan, Ohio, New York, and parts of Canada that affected 50 million people

This is very scary to me. What else are these hackers doing that we don’t know about.  What’s next, they are gonna start turning our lights on while we try to sleep!  Full Story

Safari bug can allow for unwanted downloads

Filed under: News — Admin @ 8:18 pm

There is a flaw in Safari for windows and mac that would allow malicious websites to download files to “the user’s Desktop (Windows), or Downloads directory (Apple).” This flaw would allow the files to be downloaded without any prompting from the Safari browser

“Apple does not feel this is a issue they want to tackle at this time,” says Nitesh Dhanjani who warned Apple Inc and Microsoft about the flaw. While Apple doesn’t seem to be taking this flaw seriously Microsoft is taking it seriously.

The irony is that sometimes keeping your software up to date makes no difference if the publisher of the software doesn’t care to fix a flaw in their own software.

Best web Browser?

Filed under: News — Admin @ 8:17 pm
Author Avatar

ah, one of the most debated questions out there. Not as much as Mac or Windows, but it has been debated greatly. The browsers I will talk to you about are the most popular ones. Lets start wih: Internet Explorer Internet Explorer is the dominant player in the browser field with about 79% market share. A product of Microsoft, it offers a user interface that is similar to that offered by Windows Explorer. This internet browser has been designed for accessing a wide variety of web sites and content. Internet Explorer allows third parties to incorporate Browser Helper Objects and rich content into the design of their websites. Other valuable features offered by Internet Explorer include pop-up blockers and tabbed browsing capabilities. The main criticisms of this internet browser have focused on Internet Explorer’s security problems. Microsoft is working hard to fix these problems, and they continue to provide security patches to Internet Explorer users(which rarely works). (MY RATING: 4.5/10, It really can’t get any worse). Now off to Firefox. Firefox is an internet browser that works with just about any operating platform including: Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows. This graphic browser offers a great selection of features. Firefox pioneered tabbed browsing, which was recently picked up by Internet Explorer. This browser also offers integrated download management, live bookmarking, incremental find using the Firefox toolbar, anti-phishing protection, and a dynamic search system. Because it’s open source software, there is a vibrant community of developers actively improving the base software, and creating Firefox extensions to add new features to the browser. Firefox is rapidly gaining market share, mostly at the expense of Explorer. As of February 2008, Firefox was used by about 15% of all Internet users, an increase of 6% over the previous year. (MY RATING: 9/10) Opera is another cross-platform browser like Firefox. However, this browser is more of an “internet suite” than a simple browser. It provides users with the tools and technology to perform a wide variety of internet related tasks like viewing web pages, searching the Internet, sending and receiving emails, conducting online chats, and even displaying the latest Widgets. Opera was developed to perform well on small systems and low-end computers. It also has integrated features that make it a great choice for people with visual and mobility impairments. Another great feature of Opera is its mobile version, Opera Mini. This free download allows Opera users to access this internet suite on their mobile devices. Other features offered by Opera include: a download manager, tabbed browsing, notes, and a pop-up blocker. The drawbacks of this particular browser are related to its limited capabilities for add-ons, extensions, and Widgets. (MY RATING: 8/10) Safari is a browser found on Apple Macintosh systems, but has recently been released for Windows too. It is a great browser that has been integrated into the Mac OS X operating platform. It has many of the same features as Internet Explorer and Firefox, including: QuickTime multimedia technology, a tabbed-browsing interface system, and internet searching tools. Safari uses Google as its main search engine, and it also offers users tools that automatically fill out web-based forms, manage passwords, check spelling, and block pop-ups. Safari is by far the most popular browser for Mac OS X systems, but people who use both Windows and Mac systems now have a choice between Safari and Firefox, since both offer a common interface and can share bookmarks. (MY RATING: 9/10). I would choose Safari, because it is more or less the same as Firefox, except it has no add-ons, but its faster.

CAPTCHA Broken At Microsoft - Who’s Next?

Filed under: News — Admin @ 8:17 pm
Author Avatar

A couple of students at the School of Computing Science, in Newcastle, England, have gotten a success rate of 92% on attacking the CAPTCHA validations for such sites as Hotmail and Windows Live.

In a recently published paper they describe how it was done, and explain how text based CAPTCHA will not be hard to break on any sites using their methods.

from ZDNet

In this paper, we analyse the security of a text-based CAPTCHA designed by Microsoft and deployed for years at many of their online services including Hotmail, MSN and Windows Live. This scheme was designed to be segmentation-resistant, and it has been well studied and tuned by its designers over the years. However, our simple attack has achieved a segmentation success rate of higher than 90% against this scheme. It took ~80 ms for our attack to completely segment a challenge on a desktop computer with a 1.86 GHz Intel Core 2 CPU and 2 GB RAM. As a result, we estimate that this Microsoft scheme can be broken with an overall (segmentation and then recognition) success rate of more than 60%. On the contrary, its design goal was that “automatic scripts should not be more successful than 1 in 10,000″ attempts (i.e. a success rate of 0.01%). For the first time, we show that a CAPTCHA that is carefully designed to be segmentation-resistant is vulnerable to novel but simple attacks. Our results show that it is not a trivial task to design a CAPTCHA scheme that is both usable and robust.

The article continues by listing the number of CAPTCHA breaks over the past couple of years around the world, and shows once again, that in the war of cops versus hackers, the hackers aren’t always a step ahead, but they are never far behind the latest technoology to foil their efforts.

Oh, and the students definitely need more homework to occupy their time!

Fatigue should not be a factor in the championship series between the Lakers and the Celtics. The first game, in Boston, is not played until June 5. And the games are spaced so there is ample time to recover from one game to the next. The following is the complete schedule:

  • Game One: in Boston Thursday, June 5
  • Game Two: in Boston Sunday, June 8
  • Game Three: in Los Angeles Tuesday, June 10
  • Game Four: in Los Angeles Thursday, June 12
  • Game Five: in Los Angeles Sunday, June 15
  • Game Six: in Boston Tuesday, June 17
  • Game Seven: in Boston Thursday, June 19

All the games of this final playoff series will be telecasted on the ABC television network. If you are a basketball fan, these are the evenings to put aside any chores and to have the pop corn ready.

lefty gets out (only temporarily)…

Filed under: News — Admin @ 8:15 pm

My wife became bored with sitting about the house and wanted to go out somewhere.  I can’t imagine why - it’s a perfectly nice house, with all our hobbies and the pets.  Fearing a session of Retail Therapy, I figured I’d better go along to control the the Urge to Spend.

We wound up at one of those home stores like Linens N Things.  I always wanted to go to that store, find a Helpful Associate, and ask to see their Things.  This may be why they are going Chapter Eleven - I dunno.

So here we are at one of their competitors (who have managed to stay in business thus far) and even I’m a little excited to be out and about (they don’t let me out much).  I found all sorts of stuff there.  And I remembered why I don’t leave the house much.  These stores use extreme psychological manipulation to sell you things.

My wife has this thing about organization.  When I say this thing, I mean she is not organized.  However, she believes that if she purchases a book on organization, she’ll become organized.  When that fails, she purchases another book.  In fact, we have the most well-stocked book section on organization I have ever seen.  Barnes and Noble is jealous.  Unfortunately I can’t find anyof them because there’s no organization to where they’re stowed.

I’ll admit I used to fall for this trick.  In fact, I still do to some extent; I’m just better at catching it before it gets to the front counter to be purchased.  I have no hope whatsoever that I’ll become organized.  My particular delusion is that if I purchase shelves or shelving units, my areas will magically look less  like the aftermath of a particularly large thermonuclear device.  Or if I purchase power tools, I’ll somehow be able to build things.  After all, it looked so easy on tv…  Have you ever seen a lefty use a circular saw?  Suffice it to say that the debris comes out right in your mouth and you can’t see the line you’re cutting.

Since I’m aware of most of my weaknesses, I just satisfy myself to trail along behind my wife (and make fun of hers).

The first thing she was looking for was her favorite cleaner, Orange Clean.  They had Orange Glow, Glow Clean, Orange Oxy, and twenty others, but no Orange Clean.  I suggested we go to the front and try to find BILLY MAYS, the hyper-excited guy who does all the commercials for ONE OF A KIND PRODUCTS and CLEANERS THAT WILL CLEAN ANY KIND OF DIRT FROM ANY SURFACE.  Why you can even GLUE YOUR CAR BACK TOGETHER AFTER AN ACCIDENT WITH NEW BONDO PUTTY - ONLY AVAILABLE RIGHT NOW.   AND IF YOU ARE ONE OF THE FIRST FIVE HUNDRED CALLERS IN THE NEXT THIRTY-TWO SECONDS, WE’LL SEND YOU A FREE BABY.  BUT WAIT, THAT’S NOT ALL.

Can you imagine that guy’s home life?

HI, HONEY, I’M HOME.

HOW WAS YOUR DAY DEAR?

I HAD A GREAT DAY - NO, A STUPENDOUS DAY.

DID YOU MAKE A LOT OF SALES?

I SOLD ALL KINDS OF THINGS.  AND GAVE AWAY FREE BABIES WITH EACH ORDER.

I’M TIRED.  COULD YOU COOK DINNER TONIGHT?

I’M WAY AHEAD OF YOU, DEAR.  I BROUGHT HOME SOME OF THE ADMIRAL’S FISH.

THAT WAS SO NICE OF YOU, BILLY.

BUT WAIT…. IF YOU EAT THE FISH, YOU GET THESE LOVELY HUSH PUPPIES!

OOH, I LOVE HUSH PUPPIES.

THAT’S NOT ALL.  IF YOU EAT THEM IN THE NEXT FIFTEEN MINUTES, YOU GET THIS FREE COMBINATION BACK-SCRATCHER AND NOSE HAIR PULLER!

UMM… GEE, THAT’S NICE.

DADDY..DADDY..DADDY!!!!!!

HI, KIDS!

etc etc etc…

Not able to find Billy Mays, we labored on.

I immediately located the Espresso Storage Ottoman, which I explained to my wife that we could use for storing all of our espresso.  She declined.

Like all good bargain hunters, she gravitated to the clearance table, where I observed the genuine KitchenAid Santuko knife, which would become invaluable should either of us decide to commit santuko.

We somehow managed to tear ourselves away from the hydrating therapy socks, although I’m not entirely sure how.  Do they do the therapy or do they need therapy?

Right across the aisle I pointed out this year’s model of the super soaker, which we’ve been searching for to help our cat with a little behavioral issue.

Of course there is no store in the known universe that would be caught dead without a huge supply of digital picture frames.  I assume you can’t put Polaroids in them.  Then the iSound Spa, further proving you can sell anything if you put an `i’ in front of it.

There was an entire section of bed skirts.  I strongly objected; no bed of mine looks good in a skirt.  It’s an item like a valance, which is a word no straight male has ever heard until he gets married.  POOF - all of the sudden he knows what a valance is and can be seen shopping for them with his wife  (uh-oh).

Further on we saw an entire section of drawer dividers.  These must be for the people who aren’t getting their hydrating sock therapy and whose OCD is getting way out of control.

“What are you doing this weekend?”

I got these simply wonderful drawer dividers and I’m taking the month off to organize every drawer in my house.   Apparently it’s covered under Family Medical Leave.

Then there was the Fuzzy Duster Section.  Not a lot of shoppers know that they’re also french ticklers and cat toys.  As it turns out, not a lot of shoppers want to know this important information.  Or at very least, the lady I told was not interested.  She looked more horrified than anything else.  Bloody ignorant people.

I’m not sure what dryer balls are, but it sounds painful.

So that was our little outing.  If you don’t get out much and can’t afford most of what you see because you just put seventy-five dollars in your gas tank just this week, you have to invent your own fun.

My next story on this topic will be Christmas Eve, when the wife and I grab some expensive coffee drinks and sit in the mall, watching all the frantic last minute shoppers attempt to purchase things.   Now that’s entertainment.

Microsoft Windows 7 - Is Touch Technology The Only Difference Between Vista & 7?

Filed under: News — Admin @ 8:15 pm

Over at ZD-Net they are sharing with all of us a press release from Microsoft which addresses the changes between Vista and Windows 7, that appears to indicate that Touch Technology will be the main difference between the two operating systems. Microsoft also goes on to say that Vista is the natural progression of Window upgrades and encourages us to install Vista and not wait for Windows 7.

ZD-Net also puts a lebel on the Microsoft press release as being ‘mysterious’.  They state the following:

Yesterday, ZDNet.co.uk received a press release from Microsoft.

That’s not uncommon. What is uncommon is to get one unconnected with a product launch, an event or some major change in strategy. And this one… well, we’re still not sure quite what it’s about. It’s titled “Windows 7 Information” but, of the 1,500 or so words in it, barely a couple of sentences would fully qualify as that.

After reading the press release I came up with my own conlcusion[s]. The first thing I had to do was try and separate my own bias, in which I believe that there was no overwhelming reason to upgrade from Windows XP to Windows Vista. My personal system still runs Windows XP for one simple reason. It will not support Vista, unless I chose to install Vista Basic, which offered no benefit IMHO.  Next is the fact that I  believe that Vista is still a work in progress. I didn’t say this. The folks at Microsoft did.

With this being said, let us look at some of the things we already know about Windows 7. It will be based on the same kernel from Vista. Windows 7 will offer us Touch Technology.  My hopes was that Microsoft would be able to kick 7 in the butt and offer superior performance over Vista. But if Touch Technology is added on top of Vista, than there is a good possibility performance may be the same. I know some of us are waiting for Windows 7 and will by pass Vista altogether.

Are we going to have to wait until Windows 8 to get what we want? Read what ZD-Net has posted on their site and let me know what you think.

Comments welcome.

My Current HDTV Setup

Filed under: News — Admin @ 8:13 pm
Author Avatar

As some of you are aware, back in January, I purchased my first LCD HDTV.  I made this purchase on Amazon.com, after researching on both the Internet and at brick and mortar stores.  A review on this purchase can be found at the URL below.

http://www.lockergnome.com/dabrace1984/2008/01/08/buying-an-hdtv-from-a-bm-store-versus-amazoncom/

I have loved every minute of this purchase.  When I was originally setting up the LCD HDTV, it was going to be connected to a descent Panasonic SC-PT650 that I bought in May 2007 from Best Buy for about $320.  This home theater in a box upverts DVDs to 720p/1080p  using an HDMI port.  Out of my stupidity, I placed the DVD player/receiver on top of a stack of folded blankets.  About 15 minutes later, the DVD player/receiver fell off the stack of blankets.  My heart stopped beating.  I connected the DVD player/receiver to one of the five speakers and also connected it to the LCD HDTV.  I put in a DVD and it seemed fine, at first.  The disc start skipping at crazy.  So I stopped the DVD and put in another DVD.  Same thing.  Once again, my heart stopped.  What do I do?  I broke the DVD player/receiver meaning that the warranty wouldn’t cover the damage.  I decided that the best thing to do was to start saving my pennies again.

Flash forward about 3 weeks.  It is one week before the Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and the New York Giants.  I have satellite TV through Dish Network, so I decided to call them up and schedule a time for HDTV to be installed using the Dish Network HD ViP722 DVR (PDF link).  It was installed the Saturday before Super Bowl and watching football in HD was awesome.

Basically nothing changed with my setup for about 3.5 months.  Since I had been saving my pennies, and lots of them, on Saturday, May 10, I went to Crutchfield and purchased the Onkyo HT-SP908 (Crutchfield, Onkyo).  From Crutchfield, this unit cost $849.99, had free S/H, and no tax (buying on the Internet is great).  It was delivered on Wednesday, May 14 by UPS, was 96.6lbs, was about 4/4.5ft tall.  That weekend, May 17/18 I installed a new electrical outlet, and made a wall-mounted wood shelf, that would house my HD DVR, the Onkyo receiver, and Onkyo DVD upverting player.  During Memorial Day weekend, May 24 - 26, I wired and mounted all 7 surround sound speakers.

Everything works great.  My Dish Network HD ViP722 DVR is connected to my Onkyo TX-SR605 receiver.  My Onkyo DV-SP405 DVD upverting player is connected to the Onkyo TX-605 receiver.  The Onkyo TX-605 receiver is connected to the Onkyo SKS-HT750 surround sound system. The Onkyo TX-SR605 is connected to my Samsung LN-T4661F LCD HDTV.  I have used MonoPrice HDMI 1.3a cables, MonoPrice speaker wire, and MonoPrice banana plugs.  I am managing all of the cables as neatly as possible using a black, 1.5 inch split-wire loom from CableOrangizer.com.  It has been well worth the wait.  The only thing I am waiting for now is a Blu-ray player.  I have been looking at the newly released Samsung BD-P1500 and like what I have seen and read about it.  I’m waiting for c|net to review the player before I take the plunge.

I’m sorry for the length of this post.  I like to share my stories and setup so others can see what I have done.  They can then incorporate my methods and process into their own setup.  At the same time, I can incorporate any suggestions that others may have for me.

Feel free to post any comments.

From Cryptography For NATO to Satellite Hacking

Christopher Tarnovsky has led a wild existence in the last few years. At thirty-seven, he seems to be the pre-eminent cracker of existing smart card technology.

In an amazing tale told to Wired, Mr. Tarnovsky outlines exactly how being given a satellite dish and a couple of non-working smart cards, while in Europe working for our government, started him on his way to being a pirate and then a consultant for the satellite company he had been hacking.

The interview was granted just after he had been acquitted of the charges in a trial that took five years to unfold. Along the way, many charges have been leveled at him, both by the company he was working for, NDS Group (one time owner of DirecTV), and Nagrastar, a competing firm.

Although fired 2 years ago by NDS, he states he would like to go back and help them compete against new threats that are starting to develop. Of course, he also offered his services to the competition as well.

The story shows how the private sector is involved with technology and espionage every bit as amazing and intriguing as the military of almost any nation. The game of cops and pirates is played on almost every continent, and the only difference (one hopes) is that espionage of the industrial type should not be as conducive to losing one’s life.

By the way, over at the Wired website there is a fascinating short video of how he cracks the smart chips, including steps of cutting the chip out of the plastic card holders, applying fuming nitric acid to the protective layer, and then acetone baths before scratching off the last layer of protection, while increasing protection of other, vital areas, with the application of women’s red fingernail polish.

AVG 8 - More Helpful Information

I received this from reader Merna [under comments here]  and checked out the links provided. I believe for those who are having issues with AVG 8 this site may be helpful. I will also be doing a second part covering additional information. Thanks Merna.

Ron,

Thank you for your numerous recent articles about AVG 7.5 and 8.0 (free and paid). For in-depth reports and comments your readers might like to try the following links. I found the two April ones in early May when researching for two discussion groups and just rechecked them for additional readers’ comments before posting here.

On the recheck I found there had been an earlier one in March (when the writer was a beta tester) and there has been a fourth one since. I would suggest reading all of them before trying anything as the later articles and/or readers’ comments contain answers/solutions to some of the problems and/or questions in the earlier ones.

I appreciated the thoroughness of Claus Valca’s posts about AVG and his readers’ comments. (And I think I’ll be having a good look around grandstreamdreams.blogspot.com to see what else he has to say.) My husband is using XP and has upgraded his free AVG to 8.0. I am still using 98SE and free AVG 7.5.

I read some of what has been posted at the links above, and found it very useful. I would recommend if you are having issues with AVG 8 you read what Claus has stated and also the comments which have been made. Between his site, my site here and the forums, users should find enough information to assist them in getting AVG 8 working. OR, make a decision to wait for a later release.

Comments welcome.

Why I Love Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols

After reading his latest installment over at ComputerWorld, I can’t help but feel that this is one of those guys who wakes up each morning with a thought, put there by God, in his sleep. Sort of a modern day Moses, with the burning bush appearing in his dreams, so as to be less conspicuous, and more acceptable to the atheist and agnostic crowd.

A couple of days ago he put up a quiet little piece (all of his pieces are that way, you have to know where to look, but the effort is worth it) called ‘5 Reasons to Fire Ballmer’.

Could this man be any more on point?

In each point , he quickly makes his case, without fanfare or vitriol, and leaves the reader stunned that it hadn’t occurred, or been summed up so simply before (this time it had, see below, but not in wide release).

Besides, I had already written a similar article here, and nothing soothes the soul like knowing someone agrees with your opinion - for exactly the same reasons.

Rising Costs, Medical Concerns and You

Filed under: News — Admin @ 8:09 pm
Author Avatar

To those in the medical field it has long been known that stress is the enemy of good health as it raises blood pressure, gastrointestinal disease, and tends to exacerbate mental conditions. Given that it is only a matter of time before the struggle to make ends meet, on a limited income, will result in a rise in medical conditions that cost each of us even more.

Recurring stress is where the real problem is. Each month as the cost of fuel, food, and medical care increases it is tougher for families to make it and one knows that as these costs rise consumers are forced to tighten their belts. When this happens it is to be expected that a slow down in the economy will result thus triggering a spiral of job loss and increased economic woes that put a further strain on the over ready overburdened taxpayer to meet the needs of those without work.

So as gasoline has already reached historic levels throughout the country, which in the heartland means we are paying $3.69 a gallon for gas and $4.55 a gallon for diesel, and milk and eggs have doubled over last year the blue collar worker is struggling to stay afloat as they watch their savings dwindle. This is turn is forcing home and new construction foreclosures at an unprecedented rate. Are you stressed yet?

Well, consider this scenario. Truck drivers in England are already paying Near $2,000 A week to keep their trucks on the road. Even in France the price for diesel has reached $10.00 a gallon forcing delivery truck drivers in both countries to pull their rigs over in protest. There is no way that these drivers can continue to deliver the good consumers need without passing the increase in fuel costs on. As it stands they are paying more out in fuel costs than they earn. If this continues skyrocketing costs are destined to bring down our economy as we know it and we could well be faced with a depression that will make the 1929 one look like a piece of cake.

However, across the country the financial crunch is affecting more than people’s wallets. While it will take time to see the affects on people’s physical well-being it is taking an immediate tool on people’s mental health. According to social workers and mental health professionals they are seeing increasing numbers of patients who are suffering from extreme anxiety and a host of other emotional problems as they find themselves caught between rising costs and unpaid bills.

According to Brooke Ash. A community social worker for Community Partnership of the Ozarks, there are an ever increasing number of crisis calls coming in to their office. By that she is talking about people like single moms who call in tears because the high cost of gasoline is keeping them from being able to purchase enough food or pay their rent if they hope to be able to travel back and forth to their jobs.

Unfortunately, financial stress tend also tends to bring pre-existing mental-health issues that may have previously been hidden since studies show that there is a strong connection between financial distress and emotional distress. The emotional side will be shown through anxiety, depression, insomnia and/or migraine headaches. According to Melissa Haddow, C.P.O.’s executive director those symptoms can in turn make managing finances even more difficult. She added that “A big topic of conversation is speculation that things are bad and getting worse.” And that in turn “makes families already in a tough spot financially frightened and fearful of what’s going to happen next.”

This in turn has resulted in an increasing number of relationship issues that are causing couples to break up increasing the number of single parent households. So the problem spirals downward from every angle.

Are you stressed yet? Hang on because there is no answer thanks to our elected political officials. I truly believe that these issues should have been addressed back in the seventies when the first fuel crisis hit and we were all forced to sit in odd/even license plate lines to fuel our vehicles. Our infrastructure should have also been addressed long before now. Rather than granting money to the arts who defame our flag; or to specific groups that lower our moral fiber; or to an unjust war in Iraq these issues could have been dealt with in a manner that would have made our country stronger.

So, if you want change there is only one candidate in 2008 that you can vote for. I truly believe that a vote for either Hillary Clinton or John McCain is a vote for more of what we have experienced in the last 20 years of the Bush/Clinton White House. However, a voter for Barack Obama gives Americans a chance to change our society for the better. For once we have a candidate who is not owned by Big Business or Lobbyists and who understands the needs of Americans for a reliable fuel source, for a renewed infrastructure, and for honesty in government.

While the change will take time and will not immediately solve the stress issues that are being caused by our current economic crisis a vote for Obama will provide hope that there may be a solution to the issues that are currently plaguing us.
